Abstract

Road infrastructure burdened by high traffic volumes (overload) and repeated use will lead to a decline in road quality. Therefore, traffic growth rates must be taken into account. Road damage is generally caused by various factors. As road users increase, more roads deteriorate before their design life is reached. Furthermore, design factors, such as the quality of materials used in road construction, significantly impact road strength. Road damage is a major issue in transportation infrastructure management, and any damage to the road significantly impacts the safety and comfort of road users. This research was conducted along the Prabumulih-Baturaja Road, along STA 56+100–63+500 in Menanti Village, Lubai District, Muara Enim Regency, at 100-meter intervals. The objectives of this study were to determine the number of LHR (Low-Range Road Traffic Accidents), analyze the causes of road damage, and analyze the types of road damage. Based on the research results, the types of damage that occurred on the Prabumulih - Baturaja Highway, Lubai District, Muara Enim Regency were fine cracks with damage of 0.61%, alligator skin cracks with damage of 3.19%, edge cracks with damage of 0.47%, potholes with damage of 3.46%, sinkholes with a percentage of 0.27%, peeling of the surface layer with damage of 0.87% and grain detachment with damage of 7.64%. The largest area of damage was grain detachment with a damage area of 535 m2 of 7.64%. It is known that the planned road pavement thickness is 7.5 cm laston (AC-WC), which means the difference between the surface layer thickness in the field and the calculation is 2.5 cm, the foundation laston has no difference in the field and the calculation, and class A crushed stone also has no difference in the field and the calculation.
