Abstract

This article discusses the importance of applying the Time Cost Trade Off method in the context of the Convention Hall Building construction project at Palembang Tourism Polytechnic. The main focus is overcoming delays, particularly in pile foundation work, which was detected starting in week 12. The acceleration strategy was implemented between weeks 13 and 16. This method balances cost and time to ensure the project stays on track.The acceleration process involved adding equipment, labor, and overtime hours, with additional costs such as piling equipment Rp. 250,000,000 and labor mobilization Rp. 11,500,000. The total project cost increased from Rp. 23,811,231,432.05 to Rp. 24,125,231,432.05, reflecting a 1.3% cost increase. Thanks to this acceleration, the project was back on track by week 17, avoiding penalties and meeting planned targets. The study emphasizes the importance of proper planning and management in construction projects, highlighting key success factors such as teamwork and communication. It is noted that the Time Cost Trade Off method is not only applicable to building projects but can also be adapted to infrastructure projects such as roads and dams. Future research is encouraged to explore additional working hours or alternative methods for optimizing project delay management.
