Abstract

Road density that is not balanced with driving knowledge can cause accidents. But road accident are not only caused by drivers’ lack of driving knowledge, they are also caused by poor road conditions. This road damage includes cracking, distortion and disintegration. Road pavement is usually caused by repetition of traffic loads, along with increasing economic growth in regions, including the Musi Banyuasin district. One method that can be used to carry out evaluations is the Pavement condition index (PCI). PCI can be used to analyze types of road damage. The damage levels used in the PCI method are low severity level (L), medium severity level (M), and high severity level (H). Based on the research result, after analyzing calculations using the PCI (Pavement Index Condition) method, an average PCI (Pavement Index Condition) value was obtained which shows that the condition of the road pavement is in very poor condition. The roads that must be prioritized for treatment first are on the Jalan Raya Palembang-Jambi STA 204+200-204+300 section by carrying out HRM (Heavy Routine Maintenance) or routine maintenance carried out on road sections in heavily damaged condition.
