Abstract

Congestion is a situation or condition where traffic is stagnant or even stopped due to the large number of vehicles exceeding the capacity of the road. Congestion occurs a lot in big cities, especially those that don't have good or adequate public transportation or there is also an imbalance between road needs and population density. The congestion that occurs produces a negative impact that is not small. From an economic perspective, congestion can hamper the process of production and distribution of goods, which results in delays in the process of production and distribution of goods, which in turn impedes the pace of the people's economy. For office employees, the traffic jams they face every day can affect their physical and psychological conditions at work. The performance of the workers cannot achieve maximum results because of the congestion problem which really drains their heart and mind. Based on these results, the degree of saturation is 1.00> 0.75 or greater than the requirements. It can be concluded that the degree of saturation in the existing conditions does not meet the requirements. It can be concluded that this road section has a very large volume of vehicles and delays often occur due to inadequate road capacity and high side barriers resulting in slowed speeds.
