Abstract
Abstract-The problems of industrial waste that can lead to river pollution and the tight regulations on waste are now a major concern for the industry especially the palm oil industry. The current constraint is the difficulty of waste degradation due to the high quantity and contaminant content that can reach up to 40.000120.000 mg / l for COD. The purpose of this research is to develop membrane technology and optimization of membrane performance parameters in liquid waste management of CPO industry to separate suspended solids. The resulting povinylfloride membrane can be analyzed by contact angle. Contact angle is an analysis performed to determine the nature of water (hydrophilicity) of a membrane surface. The nature likes water (hydrophilic) is characterized by the value of contact angle <80 0 which indicates very like water. Titanium dioxide is an organic additive (organic additive) of a ceramic material added to a polyvinylfluoride polymerbased membrane-making material, capable of changing the surface properties of the membrane. In this study Titanium dioxide in the membrane polymer blend material was very well suited to alter the membrane surface properties of hydrophobic (820) to hydrophilic (530) with the addition of varying TiO 2 ie 0%, 1%, 2%. The optimization result obtained is the addition of TiO2 2% produce maximum flux with the value of 180 L / m2.hr and the percentage of 92% fitration.
