Abstract

ABSTRACT Building planning must be carried out efficiently so that construction costs can be as much as possible, but still safe against the existing load. The crosssectional size, material composition, and load factor are the main requirements of building structural planning. Beams and columns are structures formed by placing horizontal rigid elements on top of vertical rigid elements. The beam carries the load transversely from its length and transfers the load to the vertical column that supports it. The column is loaded axially by the beam and transfers the load to the soil or foundation. The results of the planning of the new building of the UIGM medical faculty there are several variations of buildings that can reduce the existing load, namely variation 1 of 1793,549 kN can reduce the existing building by 5.6 % and variation 2 of 1747.75 kN can reduce the existing building by 8% and variation 3 has a structural failure. From these results it can be concluded that the efficient variation of beams and columns is variation 2 where the dimensions of Column K1(45x45) cm, K2(35x35) cm, Beam B1(30x45) cm, B2(25x45) cm, B3(15x45) cm, B4 (25x25), Column K1(45x45) cm, K2(35x35) cm Keywords: Building planning, Beams and Columns, Planning Results
