Merando Ahmad 2022. The Implementation of Round Club Method In Teaching Reading of Descriptive Text to The Seventh Grade Student of SMP Muhammadiyah 6 Palembang. Thesis, English Education Study Program, Sarjana Degree (S1), Faculty of Teacher Training and Education Universitas Muhammadiyah Palembang. Advisors (I): Kurnia Saputri, S.Pd., MPd. (II) Dwi Rara Larasati, S.Pd., M.Pd. Keywords : Round Club Method, Teaching, Reading, Descriptive text. This thesis entitled " The Implementation of Round Club Method In Teaching Reading of Descriptive Text to The Seventh Student Of SMP Muhammadiyah 6 Palembang. The problem of this study was started from the background that the seventh grade students have difficulties to find and interpret the meaning of the text, the students got confused and did not understand what they wanted to read and the teacher's way of teaching that does not make students interested in studying English. The objective of this researcher was to find out is it effective to teach reading describtive texts by using Round Club Method (RCM) to the seventh grade students of SMP Muhammadiyah 6 Palembang, This research used true-experimental method. The population of this research was all seventh grade students of SMP Muhammadiyah 6 Palembang, with the total number 68 students. The samples of this research were 68 students which were divided into two classes: experimental class and control class. The samples were taken through convenience non-random sampling. The data obtained were analyzed by using independent sample t - test in SPSS (Statistical Package for the Social Science) 21.0. The result of t-obtained was 4.190 the critical value of t table was 1668 at the significance 0.05 (5%) for two- tailed test and degree of freedom (df) was 66. It could be concluded that Ho ( Null Hypothesis ) was rejected and Ha (Alternative Hypothesis) was accepted, because t-obtained was higher than t-table. It meant that "it is effective to teach reading descriptive text by using RCM at seventh grade students of SMP Muhammadiyah 6 Palembang.
