Abstract

ABSTRACT Accidents don't happen by chance, they have a reason. Because there is a cause, the cause of the accident must be investigated and found, so that in the future, with corrective actions aimed at that cause and with further preventive measures, accidents can be prevented and similar accidents do not recur.he purpose and objectives of the research in this final project, entitled Analysis of traffic accidents and their causal factors on Jalan Soekarno Hatta, Palembang city to identify and analyze the causal factors, characteristics, locations of accident-prone points (Blackspots) and the handling efforts that can be done in accidents. on Jalan Soekarno Hatta, Palembang City. The results of the survey of data processing locations can be concluded that the dominant factors of traffic accidents from 2016-2020 are road and environmental factors and the location of accident-prone points (Blackspots) of the 4 segments is in segment 3 (STA 5+000 – 7+300 ) From the results of data processing, the locations identified as accident-prone points (Blackspots) are regularly maintained and repaired for damaged roads by the relevant agencies and it is necessary to install warning signs for accident-prone areas.
