Abstract

Electricity has an important role in efforts to improve the quality of life and economic growth in Indonesia. The limited supply of electricity is one of the obstacles in the development and development of citizens, especially in rural areas. In general, remote rural areas in the mountains have good quality in hydroelectric power generation. In areas far from urban areas, there are still many areas that lack electricity. One of the efforts that can be done is to develop PLTMH by using energy capabilities from local sources. The purpose of this study is to reduce power losses in the conductor for the Sarwan PLTMH system. This research method has 4 stages of research, namely: literature study, tool testing, data collection and data analysis. From the results of this study, it was found that the power losses contained in the load were 0,0529 Watts while the losses in the conductor line were 1,8825 Watts, for Total Harmonic Distortion (THD) contained in voltage harmonics of 2,55% and Total Harmonic Distortion (THD) at a current of 19,80%. Keywords: PLTMH, Power Losses, Harmonics, THD
