Thesis English Education Study Program, Sarjana Degree (S1), Faculty of Teacher Training and Education, Universitas Muhammadiyah Palembang. Advisor (I) Sri Yuliani, S.Pd., M.Pd., and (II) Masagus Sulaiman, S.Pd., M.Pd. Keywords: perception, teacher's way, teaching english. The title of this thesis is "Perception on Teacher's Way in Teaching English by Students of SMP Negeri 1 Tulung Selapan". The objective of this research was to know the students' perception on teacher's way in teaching English at SMP Negeri 1Tulung selapan. The researcher used a survey design, and the Population of this research was students of SMP Negeri 1 Tulung Selapan. The sample for this research were 116 students. The researcher collected the data by using questionnaire and analyzed the data by using percentage analysis. There were five question out of twenty statements, such as always, often, sometimes, rarely, and never. The result of the research was that there were 60% question that the students dominantly chose "always", 20% question to "often", 15% question to "sometimes", and the "rarely" point had the highest percentage (24.1%) in the item "The teacher often asks students' opinions about plans to get additional study before the exam". In addition, there were 75% students dominantly responded "always" that teacher's way in teaching english. It means that the students of SMP Negeri 1 Tulung Selapan had positive perception about teachers' way in teaching English.
