Abstract
In general, traffic jams in big cities have become the main discussion and become a major problem, especially in the city of Palembang. The problem faced in traffic is the balance between the capacity of the road network with the number of vehicles and people passing by using the road. One of the roads in the city of Palembang which is experiencing congestion due to parking on the road which is the location of the research is Jalan Jendral Sudirman which is classified as a National / Primary Artery road. The research objective was to analyze the impact of parking activities on traffic performance around the Sudirman Pedestrian, and to determine the efforts to control parking on the road around the Sudirman pedestrian. The data obtained were processed using the Indonesian Road Capacity Manual (MKJI) 1997 regulations. The results of the study were taken from days that represent working days and holidays, namely on weekdays the level of road service is included in category C where the degree of saturation is 0.47 and on holidays the level of road services are included in category C where the degree of saturation is 0.45 Keywords: sudirman pedestrian, on-street parking, traffic flow.
