Abstract

SUMMARY HERU SANTOSO Effect of giving type of compost and mycorrhizal fertilizer on growth and production of hybrid maize (Zea mays L.) on dry land. (Guided by YOPIE MOELYADI and NENI MARLINA).This study aims to obtain the right type of compost and mycorrhizal fertilizer for growth and production of hybrid maize (Zea mays L.) on dry land. This research has been carried out in the land owned by one of the farmers on the land owned by farmers in Cintamanis Baru Village, Air Kumbang District, Banyuasin District, South Sumatra Province from May to August 2019. This research uses the Split plot design method with 12 combinations the treatment was repeated 3 times with a total of 36 plots with 6 sample plants. The main plot treatments are as follows: Type of goat compost (K1), chicken manure compost (k2), rice straw compost (k3) Tangkos compost (k4). Children plot, Dosage of Mycorrhizal fertilizer namely M1 Dose 2.5%, M2 Dose 5%, M3 Dose 7.5%. The variables observed in this study were Plant Height (cm), Number of Leaves (Strands), Perongkol Weight (g), Cob length (cm), Perongkol seed weight (g) and plot production (kg). Based on the results of diversity analysis showed that the combination treatment of chicken manure compost and mycorrhizal fertilizer with a dose of 7.5 g, gave the best effect on the growth and production of hybrid maize (Zea mays L) on dry land, with an average production of 5.81 kg/ plot, or the equivalent of 7.74 tons of dry cob/ ha.
