Abstract
Planetarium and observatory are educational tourism facilities that can add a very broad insight to visitors, especially in the field of astronomy, and also an alternative means of entertainment for the general public, this is marked by making the planetarium as an alternative place for family recreation. Besides acting as a vehicle for education, the planetarium also acts as a vehicle for recreation for parents of their children. Planetarium and Observatory buildings are planned at the location on Jl. Gub H.A Bastari, 15 Ulu, Seberang Ulu 1, Palembang City, South Sumatra with an area of 3.4 hectares. The potential of this land is its location which is close to the area of East Java stadium, and around the residential complex. Access to locations adjacent to shopping, offices, sports facilities, lodging, traffic stations, smooth and good transportation, has a good utility lane. Planetarium and observatory design using the analogy of architectural concepts is the choice of a very appropriate theme because the building to be designed about astronomy so that it is very supportive in the form of this planetarium building that aims to create the symbolization or character of the planetarium building.
