Abstract
SUMMARY WAHYUNI ANDRIANI, The Effect of Cutting Seed Bulbs and Dosing of Rice Straw Compost on Growth and Production of Shallots (Allium ascalonicum L.). (Supervised by NURBAITI AMIR and ERNI HAWAYANTI). The aim of this study was to obtain the best size of seed tubers and to provide rice straw compost with the best dosage for growth and production of shallots (Allium ascalonicum L.). This research has been carried out on farmer's land located on Sukarela Street, Kebun Bunga Village, Kec. Sukarami, Km 7 Palembang South Sumatra. This research has been carried out from May to July 2019. The study used an experimental method with a Split-plot design with 9 combinations of treatments and 3 replications. The treatments referred to are as follows: Main Plots Cutting Seed Bulbs (P), P1 = Without being cut, P2 = 1/3 shoots), P3 = 1/2 shoots. Rice Doses of Rice Compost Plots (K), K1 = 10 tons / ha, K2 = 15 tons / ha, K3 = 20 tons / ha. The variables observed in this study were Plant Height (cm), Number of Leaves (strands) / Plants, Number of clumps (tubers), Weight of Bulbs / Clumps (g) and Weight of Bulbs / Plots (kg). The results showed that the cutting of tubers (1/2 part) and the dose of rice straw compost (15 tons / ha). The recommended dosage gives the best growth and production of onion plants with onion tuber production of 3.05 kg / plot equal to 12.2 tons / ha.
