Abstract

SUMMARY MUHAMAD REZA PAHLEVI, The Effect of Dosing of Cassava Fertilizer and Planting Distance on Growth and Production of Shallot (Allium ascalonicum L.) Plant (Supervised by GUSMIATUN and ROSMIAH). The addition of organic matter in the form of vermicompost fertilizer can increase the availability of nutrients such as element N which helps in increasing leaf chlorophyll so that it affects the formation of onion tubers and the use of plant spacing will determine population density per unit area. The use of plant spacing is basically to provide space around good plant growth without experiencing competition between plants. Research Aims to determine and determine the best dose of vermicompost fertilizer and planting distance on the growth and production of shallots (Allium ascalonicum L.). This research has been carried out in the farmers' land in Jln voluntary, Km 7, Sukarami District, Palembang City, South Sumatra Province. The study was conducted from May to August 2019. This study used a Split plot design with 9 treatment combinations that were repeated 3 times. The treatment factors are Main Plot Factor ’Planting Distance (J): Planting distance = J1 (10cm x 15cm); J2 (15cm x 20cm); and J3 (20cm x 20cm) and Factors of Plot 'Dose of Fertilizer Cassava = K1 (10 tons / ha); K2 (15ton / ha); and K3 (20 tons / ha). The variables observed in this study were (1) plant height, (2) number of leaves, (3) number of tillers per plant, (4) tuber weight per clump, (5) tuber weight per plot. The results of this study indicate that the treatment dosage of vermicompost 15 tons / ha and spacing of 10 x 15 cm gives the best results on the growth and production of shallots (Allium ascalonicum L.), with a production of 2.67 kg / plot or equivalent to 10.68 ton / ha.
