Abstract

This research was conducted to determine the behavior of farmers in increasing income. To find out the amount of income for farming a red chili. This research was conducted in Kepahyang Village, Lempuing District, Ogan Komering Ilir Regency from April to Juny 2019. The research method used was Survey. The sampling method used is the Census. Data collection methods used in this study were direct observation and interviews with respondents using a list of questions that had been prepared previously. To answer the first problem formulation, namely farmer's behavior, a qualitative descriptive analysis method is used. Meanwhile, to answer the second problem formulation, which is to calculate the amount of red chili income, the data obtained from the field are processed by tabulation and mathematical analysis is used. The result showed that farmer’s knowledge of the red chilli farming system was still low. There is a positive attitude towards the farming system in farming red chili. Farmer’s skills in implementing farming systems in farming are still low. The income of the sample farmers in Kepahyang Village in the business of red chillies is Rp 4.906.131,25 expand arable.
