Abstract

This study aims to determine the Impact of Low Rubber Prices in Lalang Sembawa Village Sembawa District Banyuasin Regency and to find out how Farmers Can Anticipate Low Rubber Prices in Lalang Sembawa Village Sembawa District Banyuasin Regency. This research was conducted in Lalang Sembawa Village Sembawa District Banyuasin Regency in May until July 2019. The method used was simple random sampling with rubber farmer respondents in Lalang Sembawa Village Sembawa District. Data collection techniques used in this study were observation and direct interviews with respondents using a tool in the form of a list of questions that had been prepared in advance. Data analysis method used is qualitative descriptive analysis. Based on the results of the study note that the impact of low rubber prices on socio-economic conditions is affecting the level of farmers' income and education levels. And the way for farmers to anticipate low rubber prices is by planting intercropping plants such as chili on the sidelines of rubber trees, growing vegetables such as water spinach, mustard greens, long beans, cucumbers, etc., looking for side jobs such as construction laborers, public transportation drivers, opening stalls, catching fish, and those who borrow money from the bank. keywords: impact, low rubber price, rubber farmer, social economic condision
