Abstract
Floods that occurred in the area of Jl. Supersemar kel. Sub-district pipeline Kemuning the city of Palembang in the past few years has become a flood that often occurs when rain with heavy intensity hits the area. The drainage system that can be seen is no longer able to withstand the large amount of water flow received, resulting in an overflow of water from the drainage canal in the area. Overcoming flooding can be done by knowing the factors that cause the occurrence of flooding including: the intensity of rainfall is large enough, the condition of the channel that does not function optimally, and the large amount of sediment piles and clogged drainage channels. From the results of observations in the field and analyzing the dimensions of the field channels that cause flooding in the jl. Supersemar kel. Sub-district pipeline Kemuning The city of Palembang is known to be unable to accommodate high rainfall due to accumulation of sediment and garbage that clogs the canal. So to overcome this, it needs to be normalized by dredging sediments as well as adding drainage channels so that it can accommodate the flowing water flow so that drainage can be channeled optimally.
