Abstract

ABSTRACK Changes in land use from swamps to housing can threaten land productivity and reduce its function in terms of holding and distributing rainwater that causes flooding. One effort to overcome the flood hazard in residential areas is to apply biopore infiltration holes. Biopore infiltration holes function to reduce rainwater runoff by absorbing it into the soil so as to minimize the possibility of flooding. In this study aims to determine the value of permeability, infiltration rate values before and after the biopore infiltration hole and the value of reduction of flood discharge due to biopore infiltration holes. This study took place in the Griya Paras Jaya Housing City of Palembang which consisted of 209 housing units. The tool used in infiltration testing is a single ring infiltrometer, then the soil sample in the study location is taken for permeability testing in the Soil Mechanics Laboratory. The data collected is then processed and re-analyzed Based on the research, the value of the permeability coefficient (k) of land is 0.00003720 m3 / sec, the infiltration rate before the biopore infiltration hole is 7.6 cm / hour, while the infiltration rate after biopore infiltration hole is 14.8 cm / hour. The total flood discharge of the residential area before planned biopori infiltration hole is 339.609 m3 / hour. If every 1 house makes a biopore infiltration hole the flood discharge decreases by 0.4144 m3 / hour to 252.56 m3 / hour. Biopore infiltration holes proved to be able to reduce flood discharge 25.54% of the total flood discharge of residential areas for 10 years PUH. So based on the calculation of the number of biopore infiltration holes that are ideal for 1 unit of type 36 houses with a yard area of 56 m2, there are 28 holes of biopori infiltration.
