Abstract
ABSTRACT The main problem in the Muara Payang Village during the dry season is the water needs in the rice fields of the Muara Payang Village sometimes can not be fulfilled so that it affects the production of farmers. Left latitude irrigation irrigates an area of 3,037.70 ha which irrigates 3 irrigated areas namely left latitude irrigation area (LK), estuary payang (PM), and (AG), where irrigation area of payang estuary irrigates an area of 191.70 ha in length channel 990 m which has 3 tertiary channels namely PM.ka, PM.1tg, and PM.1ki. To overcome the need for irrigation of rice fields in Muara Payang Village, Muara Payang Subdistrict, Lahat Regency, a study was conducted which measured the water level and width of the channel by measuring the width of the channel, the width of the channel, and the depth of the channel using a meter. Then do the flow velocity measurement by determining the starting point of the flow velocity measurement (dividing (ba) into 3 points at each measurement, then determining the depth of the measurement point, after that prepare the current meter and sink the propeller according to the measurement point. Based on the analysis of rice field irrigation water needs in Muara Payang Village, Muara Payang District, Lahat Regency, the results obtained are PM.1ka plot water area with an area of 27.10 ha, water demand for each plot is 14.53 l / sec and the efficiency value of tertiary canals is 79 %. For PM.1tg plots with an area of 77.30 ha, the water demand for each plot is 4.24 lt / sec and the tertiary channel efficiency value is 77%. For PM.1ki plots with an area of 87.30 ha, the water demand for each plot is 3.13 l / sec and the efficiency value of tertiary canals is 75%. Keywords: Irrigation, Water, Rice Fields
