Abstract

The formulation of the problem in this study is 1) How is law enforcement eradicating narcotics crime in the South Sumatra Regional Police area? and 2) What is the obstacle of the police in overcoming the eradication of narcotics crime in the South Sumatra Regional Police? The research method used is empirical research. Data sources used in this study consist of primary data and secondary data. Based on the results of the study shows that 1) Law Enforcement Eradication of Narcotics Crimes in the Regional Police Region of South Sumatra has been enforced but not yet effective or optimal; and 2) Obstacles to the police in tackling the eradication of narcotics crime in the jurisdiction of the South Sumatra Regional Police, including: a) lack of field informants; b) lack of evidence and rarely people who want to be witnesses in the trial, so that those who (at the same time) act as witnesses are the police who handle the case; c) lack of professionalism of law enforcement officers; d) level of community legal awareness; e) the unavailability of adequate facilities / facilities to deal with narcotics problems Keywords: enforcement, law, crime, narcotics
