Abstract

Highway pavement is part of Indonesia's economic support. The rapid development of the economy in Indonesia has caused many problems for the pavement of existing roads in this country, plus the uncertain weather in this country has made the existing pavement worse. Porous asphalt technology is used to be able to withstand more and more vehicle loads and also utilize good absorption to avoid stagnant water due to rain. The addition of SBS type polymers in roadways can increase the strength of asphalt when holding vehicle loads. This research was carried out in the Road and Asphalt Laboratory of the University of Muhammadiyah Palembang by using a mixture of asphalt levels of 5%, 5.5%, 6% where each test was made 3 samples of test specimens. The optimum Marshall characteristic test results obtained at asphalt levels of 6%, with a stability value of 993.86 kg / mm and optimum asphalt content of 5.88%.
