Abstract

Parking facilities are an important supporting element in ensuring the smooth operation of public service facilities, including community health centers. Puskesmas Pembina in Palembang, as a primary healthcare service center, experiences a relatively high number of visitors, resulting in an increasing volume of vehicles arriving each day. The existing conditions indicate that the capacity and arrangement of the available parking area are inadequate. Consequently, some vehicles utilize the roadside as a parking space, which potentially disrupts traffic flow and reduces the comfort of service users. This study aims to analyze the existing parking conditions, evaluate the compatibility between parking demand and available capacity, and propose alternative parking layout arrangements that are more effective and efficient at Puskesmas Pembina Palembang. The research employs a survey method with a quantitative approach through field observations conducted for six working days during the operational hours of the health center. The collected data include the number of vehicles entering and leaving, parking accumulation, parking duration, and the available parking capacity. The data were analyzed using parking characteristic parameters, including parking volume, parking accumulation, parking index, parking turnover, parking duration, and static parking capacity. The results indicate that the parking capacity for two-wheeled vehicles is still sufficient, with the highest accumulation reaching 51 vehicles out of 66 available spaces. In contrast, the parking capacity for four-wheeled vehicles is insufficient, as the demand reaches 22 vehicles while only 13 parking spaces are available. Therefore, additional parking spaces and a reorganization of the parking layout are required to improve space utilization efficiency and support smoother service activities at Puskesmas Pembina Palembang.
