Abstract

This study investigates the use of coconut fiber ash (CFA) as a partial cement substitute combined with Sikacim Concrete Additive in concrete mixtures. The aim of this research is to determine the effect of coconut fiber ash and Sikacim on the compressive strength of concrete. An experimental method was employed, using substitution variations of coconut fiber ash at 2.5%, 5%, 7.5%, and 10% of the cement weight, along with 2% Sikacim added to each mixture. Compressive strength tests were conducted at 28 days using cylindrical specimens measuring 15 × 30 cm. The results indicate that coconut fiber ash significantly influences concrete compressive strength. The use of up to 7.5% coconut fiber ash with 2% Sikacim still produces compressive strength that meets the standards of normal concrete quality. The optimum compressive strength was achieved at 2.5% coconut fiber ash with 2% Sikacim, reaching 27.40 MPa. However, the compressive strength decreased at CFA contents above 7.5% due to reduced cement usage. Based on these findings, coconut fiber ash can be utilized as a partial cement substitute in concrete production, with an optimum substitution level of 2.5% combined with 2% Sikacim to enhance compressive strength.
