Abstract
Drying coffee beans is a crucial stage in the post-harvest process that directly impacts the final product quality, such as moisture content, color, aroma, and flavor. This study aims to analyze temperature stabilization in an Arduino Uno- based dome coffee dryer powered by a solar power plant (PLTS) to improve coffee bean quality. The system is designed to automatically maintain the drying temperature within the optimal range of 35°C–40°C, utilizing a DHT22 sensor to measure temperature and humidity, an Arduino Uno as a controller, and a heating element and fan as actuators. The solar radiation conversion system is powered by 4 × 200 Wp solar panels connected to an off-grid circuit via a solar charge controller, battery, and inverter. The temperature inside the dome coffee dryer dropped below 35°C between 3:00 PM and 9:00 AM for 18 hours. The temperature increased above 35°C between 9:00 AM and 2:00 PM for 6 hours. Temperature stabilization is necessary to maintain a minimum temperature of 35°C with humidity in the range of 40-70°C.
