Abstract
ABSTRACT Stone Mastic Asphalt (SMA), is a surface coarse or open graded mixture that has a large coarse aggregate content and high asphalt content that will be resistant to ultraviolet and oxidation rays which are expected to increase the durability of the pavement layer . The specifications used are in accordance with the requirements set out in SNI 8129: 2015 concerning Specifications of Stone Mastic Asphalt (SMA). The additives used were Cellulose Fiber as much as 0.50% of the total mix or mixture, Anti Stripping type Wetfix be as much as 0.3% against asphalt, Elastomeric type SBS (Styrene butadine Styrene) as much as 6% against asphalt, and asphalt used is 60/70 asphalt penetration as a binder. This study only analyzes volumetric asphalt mixes, including Pore Volume in Aggregate / Voin In Mineral Agregate (VMA), Void In Mix (VIM) Volume, Asphalt Pore Volume Between Filled Ingredients / Void In Filled with Asphalt (VFA) , and Marshall Test testing. The proportion of percent asphalt content plan 5.5%, 6%, 6.5%, 7%, 7.5%. Based on the results of Marshall tests that have been carried out, it is found that the Unit Weight value is 5.50% asphalt content, has a minimum value of 2.235 gr / cc and the test specimen with 6.50% asphalt content has a maximum value of 2.264 gr / cc, Air Void indicates that the object Tests with asphalt content of 7.00% and 7.50% are in the specified spec. Marshall Stability shows that specimens with asphalt levels of 6.50%, 7.00%, and 7.50% are above the permissible limit or that is kg 600 kg, ie the test specimens with asphalt content at 7.50% are in the value maximum stability of 730.0 kg. Void Filled shows that test specimens with asphalt levels of 6.50%, 7.00% and 7.50% are in the specified spec. Flow shows that there are 4 specimens in the spec that are set to 2-3.5 mm, namely the test specimens at 6.00%, 6.50%, 7.00%, and 7.50% asphalt. So that from the results of Unit Weight, Void Filled, Air Void, Marshall Stability, and Flow values, it can be seen that the Optimum Asphalt Level (KAO) Stone Mastic Asphalt (SMA) is 7.15%.
