Abstract
This study aims to identify the types of fish found in the Musi River in Palembang City, analyze the diversity, uniformity, and dominance of fish species, and identify the environmental factors that influence the presence of fish in these waters. The study was conducted at three observation stations: Station 1 (Keramasan), Station 2 (Plaju), and Station 3 (Kalidoni). The method used was a survey method with purposive sampling technique, where samples were collected intentionally using traditional fishing gear. Environmental parameters measured included temperature, light intensity, depth, pH, dissolved oxygen (DO), and total dissolved solids (TDS). The results showed that 24 fish species were found at Station 1, 21 species at Station 2, and 26 species at Station 3. The most dominant species included Seluang (Rasbora argyrotaenia), Lumajang (Cyclocheilichthys enoplus), Kepa (Puntiolites bulu), Sepengkak (Parambassis wolfii), Lais (Kryptopterus lais), and Udang Galah (Macrobrachium rosenbergii). The diversity index (H’) values at the three stations ranged from 3.955 to 4.277 (high category), the evenness index (E) ranged from 0.455 to 0.485 (moderate category), and the dominance index (C) ranged from 0.062 to 0.081 (low category).(57–61). Environmental factors affecting fish populations in the Musi River include temperature (29.5–30.6 °C), transparency (22–29 cm), depth (108–183 cm), pH (6.74–6.99), dissolved oxygen (1.1–1.9 mg/L), and TDS (57–61).
