Abstract
This study focuses on the design and power optimization of a hybrid Solar Power Plant (PLTS) system integrated with the national grid (PLN) using HOMER Pro software. The research is motivated by the increasing national electricity demand and the urgent need for a transition to clean energy. The main objectives are to design an optimal PLTS–PLN system configuration for residential applications, determine the capacity of key components, and evaluate the technical and economic performance of the system. The simulation uses solar radiation data from NASA POWER and residential load profiles from HOMER Pro’s library. Results indicate that a PLTS system with 1.625 kWp solar panels, a 3 kW inverter, and 48 V 700 Ah batteries can produce approximately 2,269 kWh/year, covering about 53.6% of the total household electricity demand of 2,847 kWh/year. The remaining 1,964 kWh (46.4%) is supplied by PLN. This hybrid system reduces annual electricity costs by around IDR 3.1 million and decreases dependence on fossil energy without compromising supply reliability. The findings highlight the potential of hybrid PLTS systems as a sustainable energy solution for residential use in Indonesia.
