Abstract

The purpose of this study was to determine the marketing and analyze the marketing profit of palm oil in Sumber Mulyo Village, Muara Sugihan District, Banyuasin Regency. The research method used is a survey method with a Simple Random Sampling technique for 200 farmers and in this study 10% of the population was taken so that 20 people were obtained as a sample of farmers. Meanwhile, for the respondents of collectors, the Snowball method was used with a total of 4 people. The results of the study found one marketing channel for Fresh Fruit Bunches (FFB) of oil palm in the research location, namely Farmers → Collectors → Palm Oil Mills (PKS). Based on the results of the study, farmers chose this marketing channel because of easier access and they did not have their own means of transportation. The average profit obtained by farmers in this marketing channel was IDR 5,728,450 with a profit per kilogram of IDR 2,263 / Kg. Meanwhile, collectors obtained a total profit of IDR 4,488,000 or IDR 355 / Kg. These results indicate that the position of actors in the marketing channel and the efficiency of marketing costs greatly affect the amount of profit obtained.
