Abstract

This study aims to identify the cost components forming the cost of rice production, calculate the production cost, and analyze the relationship between the cost of production and the selling price of rice at the farmer level in Mendayun Village, Madang Suku I District, OKU Timur Regency. The research method used is a survey with a simple random sampling technique. Data were analyzed using quantitative methods, including editing, coding, tabulating, cost analysis, and Spearman correlation test. The results showed that the cost of rice production consists of fixed costs and variable costs. The highest fixed cost was the use of tractors amounting to Rp79,306/MT, while the lowest was sickle at Rp3,506/MT. The highest variable cost was labor at Rp3,681,167/MT, and the lowest was herbicide at Rp100,533/MT. The cost of rice production was Rp946/kg, while the average selling price was Rp5,800/kg, indicating that rice farming is profitable. The Spearman correlation test (rs = 0.03) and t-test (tcount < ttable; 0.16 < 1.701) revealed that the cost of production has no significant effect on the selling price.
