Abstract

T he fact that biology learning outcomes at SMA Muhammadiyah 1 Air Saleh are still relatively low, ranging from 50-60 below the Learning Objective Achievement Criteria (KTTP). This is a concern because students are also required to be able to hone their competencies in biology learning, one of which is Science Process Skills (KPS). KPS is very important in biology learning because it allows students to master skills in practicums, not just theory. Therefore, teachers need to develop teaching modules basedon learning models to be effective in improving student learning outcomes and KPS. The purpose of this study is to produce a teaching module for fungi material based on PjBL that is valid, practical, and effective to improve student learning outcomes and KPS. The research method uses 4D referring to Thiagarajan, namely define, design, develop, and disseminate. Data collection techniques include interviews, questionnaires, and observation of teacher and student needs. The research population is SMA Muhammadiyah 1 Air Saleh, and the research sample is students X1 and X2. Data analysis of Normality test, Homogeneity test, Wilcoxon test, Mann Whitney test, and N-gain. The results of the define stage of the research show that teachers and students need a teaching module on fungi material because it helps and makes it easier for students to the science process. The design results create questions and the format of the teaching module design. The results of the development of the feasibility of the developed teaching materials from the language aspect are 89.58% (very good category), the material aspect is 95.13% (very good category), the learning device aspect is 97.22% (very good category) and the evaluation aspect is 88.42% (good category), so that the teaching device is categorized as very good. The results of the practicality of the teaching device are categorized as practical by teachers with a percentage of 89.28% and the teaching material can be read very well by students with a percentage of 82.26%. The results of the disseminate Wilcoxon test and Mann Whitney test show that there is a difference between the learning outcomes of students in the pretest-posttest of the control class and the experimental class. Based on the N-gain value, the teaching module is 85% effective in improving learning outcomes and increasing process skill indicators (using laboratory equipment) in the KPS. It is hoped that in the future, this PjBL-based teaching module can be used to improve critical skills and learning motivation for students.
