Abstract

Highways are one of the means of land transportation that have an important role in human life, especially for economic and socio-cultural growth to support national development. To facilitate community mobility so that it can provide good service according to the required capacity, if there is road damage, it will hinder community activities, causing accidents. The purpose of this study was to determine the types of damage and the value of the Sungai Dua road pavement index, so that it can compare the condition values of the Sungai Dua Highway section, Rambutan District, Banyuasin Regency based on predetermined methods. The methods used are the PCI (Pavement Condition Index) method and the Bina Marga method. The assessment of road conditions in the PCI method is by ranking from a value of 0- 100 while the Bina Marga method is based on the priority order of the road with a value range of 0-7. The types of damage found on the 2 km Sungai Dua highway include holes, longitudinal cracks, crocodile skin cracks, and patches. In the PCI method, the average value obtained was 22.95 which is a very poor road condition.
