Abstract

The purpose of this study was to determine and analyze the pH value (H2O and KCl) and soil oil/fat content at a certain distance and depth, to determine whether the illegal oil mining location in Ulak Kembang Village is contaminated with pH indicators (H2O and KCl) and soil oil/fat content and to determine the effect of pH (H2O and KCl) and soil oil/fat content on plants around illegal oil mining in Ulak Kembang Village, Musi Banyuasin Regency, South Sumatra Province. This research was conducted in Ulak Kembang Village, Batang Hari Leko District, Musi Banyuasin Regency which was 1 carried out from August to September 2024. The research method used in this study was an experimental method using a Factorial Randomized Block Design (RAK Factorial). The conclusion of the research results is that the highest pH value of groundwater (H2O and KCl) was found in the highest soil pH values (H2O and KCl) were found in the R3D3treatment interaction with an average value of 5,09 and 4,08 and the lowest in the R1D1treatment interaction with an average value of 4,07 and 3,72. The highest soil oil/fat content was in the R1D1 treatment interaction with an average value of 1,626% and the lowest was in the R3D3 treatment interaction with an average value of 0,380%. The average pH value of groundwater (H2O and KCl) at the illegal drilling research location in Ulak Kembang Village is 4.61 and 3.86, which is included in the category Very Sour (pH KCl 3.86) to Sour (pH H2O 4.61). If the soil pH is too acidic, plants cannot absorb nutrients and experience poisoning. The oil/fat content in the soil at the crude oil drilling site (illegal drilling) in Ulak Kembang Village averages 1.063%. This means that the oil/fat content of the soil sample at the location is included in the category of crude oil contamination. Oil waste from illegal drilling not only has an impact on plants around the location, but also has a negative impact on plantation crops around the location such as oil palm plants. If there is direct contact of high concentrations of petroleum with oil palm plants, the oil palm plants will die.
