Abstract

The purpose of this study was to determine the length-weight relationship and condition factor of sembilang fish caught using gill nets. The research was conducted from September to October 2024 in Kuala Sungai Pasir Village, Cengal Subdistrict, Ogan Komering Ilir Regency, South Sumatra Province. The method used in this study was purposive sampling, with fish collected from three different stations. Water quality measurements were taken once a week in the morning and afternoon. Based on the results of the study, it was found that the growth pattern of sembilang fish at stations 1, 2, and 3 was negatively allometric. The correlation coefficient r values from the three stations indicated a strong relationship between the length and weight of the fish, as the r values were close to 1. The average condition factor at each station was 1, indicating that the body shape of the sembilang fish was slightly thin but living in a good environmental condition and suitable for consumption.
