Abstract

Rainfed rice fields are rice fields whose irrigation depends on rainfall and are planted with rice at least once a year. In rainfed rice fields, rice can be planted by flooding it during the rainy season. However, due to the limited availability of water during the dry season, this agroecosystem is also known as a resource-poor area because rainfed rice fields are usually unproductive (low in nutrients), often experience drought and farmers do not have enough money. The results of this research found the following: Based on the description of the research results and discussion in the previous chapter, it can be concluded that rainfed rice fields in Pedu Village, Jejawi District, Ogan Komering Ilir Regency with a land area of 991 Ha, the amount of water available for rice plants is 0,6825 m3/sec and the water requirement for rice plants is 2,1665 m3/sec. This can be seen from the Water Balance of the availability of rice field water with the water demand for the rice fields. With the first planting season being carried out in April – July, and the second planting season being carried out in November – February. For the month of March period 1, it is recommended that no planting be carried out due to land restoration because rainfed rice fields are land that has minimal nutrients, so in that month is the phase of returning nutrients for soil fertility, while in August period 1 to October period 1 no planting will be carried out. due to the restoration of dry land and rice fields.
