Abstract

Clay soil is a type of soil that has a low bearing capacity. The function of soil as a building foundation requires stable soil conditions. Therefore, the soil needs special treatment to improve the poor properties of the soil by stabilization. The aim of soil stabilization is to increase the bearing capacity of the soil. One alternative for stabilizing clay soil is to add beach sand to the soil. This beach sand contains ingredients that can create stability values on high ground, where when mixed with beach sand it will strengthen the carrying capacity value of the land. The variations in the beach sand mixture used were 0%, 15%, 30% and 45% of the dry soil weight with curing times of 0, 9 and 14 days. This research shows that the unconfined compressive strength value continues to increase until the highest limit occurs in the 30% Beach Pair mixture, namely 1.06431 kg/m2, with a percentage increase of 91.15%, so the unconfined compressive strength value is influenced by the addition of mixed variations where the value The greatest unconfined compressive strength occurred in a mixture variation of 30% with a curing time of 14 days. .
