Abstract
Clay soil is a type of soil that has low bearing capacity. The function of soil as a building foundation requires stable soil conditions. Therefore, the soil needs to be treated specially to improve the poor properties of the soil by means of stabilization. The purpose of soil stabilization is to increase the bearing capacity of the soil. One alternative for clay soil stability is to add fly ash to the soil. This Fly Ash has a content that can make the stability value of the soil high where when mixed with fly ash it will strengthen the bearing capacity of the soil. The variations of the Fly Ash mixture used are 0%, 20%, 23%, and 25%, of the weight of dry soil with a curing time of 0, 5, and 10 days. The study showed that the shear strength value continued to increase to the highest limit occurred in a mixture of 25% with a curing time of 10 days, with a cohesion value of 2.664 kg/cm² and a friction angle value of 39.326°.
