Abstract
Mortar is the result of mixing hydraulic cement, water and fine aggregate with certain proportions and undergoing a compaction process either directly or indirectly through pressure. Bottom ash is a residual material from the coal combustion process found at the bottom. Bottom ash contains a lot of silica and oxides which are basic minerals in making cement mixtures. Based on research that has been done, it was found that epoxy resin is very good for use as a concrete additive because it has high binding strength. This study used an experimental method with a total of 24 test objects, the test objects consisted of variations of Bottom Ash against fine aggregate substitution of 0%, 5%, 10%, 15%, 20%, 25%, 30%, 35% and Epoxy Resin replacing water and cement, the test objects used were mortar measuring 5 cm x 5 cm high. The compressive strength test was carried out at the age of 28 days. The highest percentage of bottom ash substitution mixture to sand with epoxy resin after mixing is in the mixture with 35% bottom ash substitution to sand with epoxy resin, which produces the highest concrete compressive strength and still meets the planned mortar compressive strength fc’ 25 MPa of 46.67 MPa and a specific gravity of 1461 kg/m3.
