Abstract

PT. Tunas Baru Lampung, Tbk Palembang Branch is a company engaged in the production of semi-finished goods into finished goods, namely cooking oil. In cooking oil production, product defects often occur in cooking oil packaging. By knowing the potential risks that exist, a more in-depth analysis can be carried out on the causes and risks that exist, especially in the production process, in order to minimize company losses and be able to produce products that meet consumer specifications and needs. Based on these problems, to overcome them, an appropriate method is needed to analyze quality control in the product production process at this company, namely using the Failure Mode and Effect Analysis (FMEA) method with the six sigma approach. The research results showed that the leakage packaging defect type was 36%, the oil volume defect type was 33%. And the type of defect date number is unclear at 31%. In Failure Mode And Effect Analysis (FMEA) you need to carry out analysis after ranking. From the results of calculating the Risk Priority Number (RPN) of the three existing defects, the highest ranking was obtained, namely the leaking packaging defect. Improvements can be made by creating SOP steps at the packaging site to avoid errors. And add lighting in the packaging area so that you can be seen more clearly when working in packaging.
