Abstract

The general condition of parts of Palembang City is a swamp area with conditions that are inundated almost all year round. This swamp area functions as a rainwater reservoir and drains water from the surrounding environment. In general, swamp areas in Palembang City usually have a lower land elevation than the surrounding land. However, as development progressed, accumulation occurred in swamp areas. Changing the function of swamp land into a residential area by filling it will certainly reduce the rainwater storage capacity. With this condition, the city of Palembang is very vulnerable to flooding. The aim and objective of the research that will be discussed is to evaluate the ability of existing drainage capacity to accommodate runoff water in the Jalan Silaberanti area, Silaberanti Village, Palembang City. Analyze cross-sectional capacity designs for appropriate handling of flooding problems according to field conditions. Using the Log Pearson III method for frequency analysis, mononobe to calculate rain intensity and the HSS SCS CN (Soil Conservation Service Curve Number) method to obtain flood discharge and with the help of EPA SWMM 5.1 to analyze drainage modeling was carried out to simulate rain runoff at the research location. Modeling consists of network systems, hydrology and channel hydraulics. The modeling created in this research uses a return period of 2 years, in accordance with the catchment area and city typology, namely a metropolitan city with a catchment area of 30.90 Ha. And the results of the flood level analysis show that the condition of the existing channel cannot accommodate flood discharge, in the 2 year return period runoff occurs due to sedimentation that occurs in the channel, while handling efforts include normalization excavation and changes in channel dimensions.
