Rachmanola, Yundra. 2024. Students’ Anxiety in English Language Speaking Practice of The Ninth Grade Students of SMP Muhammadiyah 4 Palembang. Thesis. English Study Program, Sarjana Degree, Faculty of Teachier Training and Education, Muhammadiyah University of Palembang. Advisors: I. Sri Yuliani,S.Pd., M.Pd., II. Asti Gumartifa, S.Pd., M.Pd. The aims of this study was to determine the level of anxiety and the factors that cause students’ anxiety of the ninth grade students of SMP Muhammadiyah 4 Palembang. The method of the research was qualitative research. The population of this research was all the ninth grade students of SMP Muhammadiyah 4 Palembang consisted 147 students and the sample were 28 students taken by purposive sampling. In collecting the data, researcher used interviews and observations. The result of the study show that the level experienced by students is moderate level. There are four factors that cause students’ anxiety in speaking English, such as lack of preparation, lack of confidence,lack of pronounciation, and other factors.
