Abstract

Prabumulih is one of the trans-Sumatra cities that many vehicles pass through, so it is certain that the traffic flow in this area will be very dense, one of which is at Simpang Empat Jalan Jl.prof. Moh. Yamin – Jl. Urip Sumorharjo. the road is the second center of the economy in Prabumulih City. The type of research used is descriptive and quantitative where primary data collection is carried out in the field. For 7 days (Monday to Sunday) from 07.00- 17.00. Road width data is obtained in the field by measuring directly using a measuring device for each approach. When all primary and secondary data have been obtained, they will be analyzed based on the 1997 MKJI Book. The results of the analysis of the performance of the signalless four-way intersection Jl.prof. Moh. Yamin – Jl. Urip Sumorharjo. in the existing conditions it shows poor results based on the Book (MKJI 1997). The capacity obtained is 3208.078 pcu/hour, the degree of saturation is 0.854, the intersection delay is 15.80 sec/smp; and queue probability of 58% (upper limit) and 29% (lower limit). To improve the performance of unsignalized intersections, Jl.prof. Moh. Yamin – Jl. Urip Sumorharjo., made three alternatives according to the conditions at the intersection of Jl.prof. Moh. Yamin – Jl. Urip Sumorharjo., the optimal problem-solving alternative for this unsignalized intersection is alternative III, namely installing prohibition signs and adding sections to the main road of the North arm and Minor roads according to the MKJI 1997 guidelines where the addition of sections to the main road of the North arm and the minor road of the Jl intersection .prof. Moh. Yamin – Jl. Urip Sumorharjo. shows a capacity of 3708.046 pcu/hour degree of saturation 0.739 Intersection delay of 12.24 and queue probability of 45% (upper limit) and 22% (lower limit).
