Abstract
This study aims to determine the structure and behavior of the rubber market formed in Sumber Mulya Village, Lubai Ulu District, Muara Enim Regency. This research was conducted in Sumber Mulya Village, Lubai Ulu District, Muara Enim Regency from January to February 2023. The method used was a survey. The sampling method used is by simple random sampling (Simple Random Sampling) where in this study the sample used was 25 rubber farmers and sampling of traders using the snowball sampling method. Data collection methods used in this study were observation, direct interviews using pre-prepared questionnaires and documentation where the data obtained were primary data and secondary data. While the data processing methods are editing, conding and tabulating. The data analysis method used in this research is descriptive qualitative and quantitative analysis. Based on the results of the research that has been carried out, it can be concluded that from calculations using the Hirschman Herfindhal Index analysis, it shows that in marketing channel I the rubber farmer market structure is 448.75 which means that the rubber farmer market structure formed is perfect competition, the IHH value of the collector traders village of 10000.00 means that the rubber farmer market structure formed is a monopoly, and the IHH value of sub-district collectors is 3966.95 meaning that the rubber farmer market structure formed is monopoly, while in marketing channel II the rubber farmer market structure is 52.08 means that it indicates that the market structure for rubber farmers that is formed is perfect competition and the IHH value of sub-district collectors is 400.36 means that it indicates that the market structure for rubber farmers that is formed is perfect competition, this is because the goods sold are homogeneous, rubber farmers cannot influence prices (price takers) and market information is very clear and sellers can freely enter and exit the market. The market behavior that is formed is imperfect competition, where the result of the correlation coefficient is equal to 0.154. Based on the interpretation of the correlation coefficient, it is known that the prices received by farmers and the prices paid by consumers have a very low relationship. so that the integration between the price paid by consumers and the price received by farmers, the market behavior that is formed is an imperfect competition market, where a market where the difference between sellers and buyers is very large, but with the same or similar number of goods. Then the price offered by the sellers will affect the market balance itself.
