Abstract
Watershed (DAS) is an area where all the water flows into a designated river. This area is generally limited by topographical boundaries, which are the highest places (ridges) so that rainwater that falls in them will always go to the downstream (lower part). Soil erosion that occurs in the Enim sub-watershed is the main problem in this study. Erosion is a process or event of loss of the topsoil, either caused by the movement of water or wind. This erosion process can cause a decline in soil productivity, soil carrying capacity for agricultural production and environmental quality. The location of this research is in the Enim sub-watershed which is located in Muara Enim Regency, South Sumatra, Indonesia. The Enim River stretches through several sub-districts in Muara Enim district including the districts of Semendo Darat Laut, Semendo Darat Ulu, Semendo Darat Tenga, Tanjung Agung, Lawang Kidul and Muara Enim. In this study, the authors estimate the amount of erosion that occurs in the Enim sub-watershed using the MUSLE method. Based on analysis results of the erosion rate using the Modify Universal Soil Loss Equation method, it can be seen that the average erosion rate from 2016-2020 in the Enim sub-watershed is 7,317,798.56 tons/year, while the average erosion rate is 5 years per year. hectares, which is 43.90 tons/ha/year.
