Abstract

This study aims to determine the competitiveness of Ranau coffee farming based on competitive and comparative advantages and to determine the impact of government policies on Ranau coffee farming in Ogan Komering Ulu Selatan Regency. This research was conducted in Air Rupik Village, Banding Agung District, Ogan Komering Ulu Selatan Regency. From May to June 2022. The research method used is a survey method for the sampling method using the Simple Random Sampling and Snowball Sampling methods. Data collection methods used in this study were observation, interviews, and documentation. The data processing method used (editing, coding, and tabulating) and the data analysis used is the Policy Analysis Matrix. The results showed that Ranau coffee in Ogan Komering Ulu Selatan Regency had competitiveness (competitive and comparative advantage) with a PCR value of 0.34 and a DRC value of 0.22. The impact of government policies in the form of import duties of 5% and VAT of 10% tends to reduce farmers' profits, this happens because government policies only focus on input taxes without subsidy policies and there are no policies that protect output directly so farmers have to spend more than it should have on the input but received a selling price that was smaller than it should have been.
