Abstract

ABSTRACT Ferian 2022.Students’ perception on the Implementation of English Week Program in Al-ittifaqiah Islamic Boarding School.Thesis, English Education Study Program, Sarjana Degree (S1), Faculty of Teacher Training and Education UniversitasMuhammadiyah Palembang. Advisors (I): MasagusSulaiman, S.Pd.,MPd. (II) FinzaLarasati, S.Pd., M.Pd. Keywords :Perception, Speaking, English week. This thesis entitled "Students’ perception on the Implementation of English Week Program in Al-ittifaqiah Islamic Boarding School”. This research aims toinvestigate the students’ perception on the implementation of English week program. This research was conducted at Al-ittifaqiah IslamicBoarding School. The participants were 34 students,the researcher used stratified technique sampling to take fourstudents of each class. Theresearcher used questionnaire to collect data from participants. Thequestionnaire consist of 20 questionnaire items. The students have possitive perception on the implementation of English week program. it could be seen from the result of questionnaire item number 12 “the students should follow program is applied on English week” where there were 24 students (70%) agreed about the program. Meanwhile,10 students (30%)disagreed about the program.Furthermore, the implementation began from the announcement of English week program by language departmen in the morning before praying subuh. next, after praying subuh the students did Dauroh in vocabularies program. Then, the students enter to their classes to study but by using English to communicate in every situation. Before praying magrib, the students did Dauroh in language correction program. Furthermore, in the evening the students got the annoucement of the students who did not speak English from language department and they would get the the punishment by Jasus system from language departmen. Then, in the Saturday language department would take the best students as the winner of English week program on that seasson.
