Abstract

This study aims at revealing the types errors of the eleventh grade students of SMAN 10 Palembang. This analysis used surface strategy taxonomy in classifying students errors in grammatical structures. This research used descriptive research method. This research used random sampling and the total of sample were 34 students. The result of this study showed that students’ mistakes in produced explanation text writing were divided into several categories of errors, that there were 12 errors in term of misordering, 8 errors in term of omission, 11 errors in term of addition, and 9 errors in term of misformation.
