Abstract

The highway as an infrastructure to facilitate transportation, is currently experiencing obstacles because road users want to get to their destination faster. Seeing the fact that there are still many traffic jams that occur at intersections, especially in urban areas, where there is no proper regulation and control system at the intersection, with the increasing number of motorized vehicles, the control and regulation system at some intersections needs to be done. The condition of the Talang Jambe intersection has become a problem for road users. The cause of congestion at the Talang Jambe intersection in Palembang City is as a result of the imbalance of the existing traffic network, namely the accumulation of vehicles that causes traffic density on a certain road network to be high so that traffic flow is high. traffic jammed and even stopped. The highest level of service with numbers (0.85-1.00) in the afternoon hours (16:00-18:00) on Mondays, Thursdays and Sundays on Jalan Governor H.Saiman Sagiman direction Talang Keramat (segment 1 ) and Jalan Governor H.Saiman Sagiman towards the Airport Intersection (segment 3) the most volume of vehicles with service level E where the service flow is low with traffic volume approaching road capacity and speed is very low, traffic density is high due to high traffic internal barriers and the driver starts to feel the short duration traffic jam.
