Abstract

ABSTRACT The Simpang Kijang – Terusan Menang road section is located in Ogan Komering Ilir Regency which has an area of 19,023.47 km² and a population of around 731,721 people. The Simpang Kijang – Terusan Menang is a class III district road which has a length of 14 KM. Based on the role of the road, the Smpang Kijang – Terusan Menang road has a fairly high road activity starting from the area itself and from outside areas. This research was conducted on the Simpang Kijang – Terusan Menang section for 14 km, namely at STA 00+000 – 14+000. The purpose of this study is to analyze the causes and types of damage to flexible pavement on the Simpang Kijang – Terusan Menang road section at STA 00+000 – 14+000 (Ogan Komering ilir Regency). The purpose of this study was to determine the amount of LHR, to determine the thickness of the pavement in the field with the calculation results, to determine the types of damage, to determine the level of road service on the Simpang Kijang - Terusan Menang road section (Ogan Komering Ilir Regency). The results of the analysis and calculations obtained that the highest average daily traffic (LHR) was 2,605 vehicles with 2 tons light vehicles (2,302), 2 axles 10 tons (300), 3 axles 20 tons trucks (3), and 8 tons buses (0 ) vehicles, Factors causing road damage in general are caused by poor drainage systems, almost all roads do not have drainage and vehicles that exceed capacity (overload), road pavement reconstruction using Laston with a design age of 5 years is 4 cm, the percentage of pavement damage The most flexible bending at the Simpang Kijang – Terusan Menang road is longitudinal cracks and holes with the percentages of 1.609% and 0.964% and the types of damage that occur on the Simpang Kijang – Terusan Menang road include fine cracks, crocodile skin cracks, longitudinal cracks, holes , peeling of the surface layer and the release of granules.
