Abstract

This study aims to determine the factors that cause lebak Pematang land to be planted with rice three times a year and to find out how much production and income is obtained in each planting season in Air Balui Village, Sanga District, Musi Banyuasin Regency. This research was carried out in Air Balui Village from September to November 2021. The method used in this study was a survey, for the sampling method used the Simple Ramdom Sampling (Random) method. The data collection method used in this research is direct observation, interview and documentation to the respondents who have been determined by using a questionnaire that has been prepared beforehand. Data processing begins with Editing, Coding and Tabulating. Furthermore, the data were analyzed using qualitative and quantitative approaches. The results showed that the factors that caused rice fields to be planted three times in one year were the availability of reservoirs (dams), the availability of agricultural machinery, the role of extension agents and the availability of superior seeds (Variates Inpari 32). The production obtained in the first season was 6,235 (Kg/Lg/MT), in the second season it was 5,529 (Kg/Lg/MT) and in the third season it was 6,222 (Kg/Lg/MT). The income earned by farmers was Rp. 51,613,720 (Kg/Lg/MT) in the first season, Rp. 45,549,981 (Kg/Lg/MT) in the second season and Rp. 55,622,804 in the third season. (Kg/Lg/MT).
